From Global News.
Tumbler Ridge is home to just 2,400 people and all have been rocked by the mass shooting that left nine dead and dozens others injured in the northern B.C. town Tuesday.
We hear from Payten MacNeil, a student who survived the rampage inside Tumbler Ridge Secondary School after being taken to a back room to hide with several other students, as five other schoolmates and a teacher were killed.
“We heard screams and then the alarms started going.” MacNeil said. “We got sent into the back room and we were just liked in there for like three hours, not knowing where our siblings were, not being able to talk to our parents,” she said.
As Global’s Katherine Ludwig reports, MacNeil was reunited with her family after police evacuated the institute.
