Former Special Counsel Jack Smith is scheduled to testify publicly before the House Judiciary Committee on Jan. 22, 2026, about his investigations into President Trump. In a closed-door deposition in December 2025, Smith said Trump was “the most culpable and most responsible person” for the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.
