From AFP News Agency.
The son of Hong Kong pro-democracy media tycoon Jimmy Lai, convicted on all three charges in his national security trial, urges the UK government to do more to secure his father’s release. Speaking in London, Sebastian Lai says "the UK government has to do more…it’s time to put action behind words and make my father’s release a pre-condition to closer relationships with China." Prosecutors have said Lai was the mastermind behind two plots to ask foreign countries to sanction, blockade and take action against Hong Kong or China, and accused him a publishing material that "excited disaffection" against the government.
