Never-before-seen Dr. Seuss book to publish in 2026 #shorts

From PBS NewsHour.

A never-before-seen Dr. Seuss’ book, “Sing the 50 United States!” is set to be published next year. The unpublished book by Dr. Seuss — born Theodor Geisel — was discovered in the archives of UC San Diego’s Geisel Library. About 500,000 copies will be released on June 2, 2026, Random House Children’s Books and Dr. Seuss Enterprises said in a news release.

It’s the first posthumous Dr. Seuss book to be published since 2015, when the then-newly discovered “What Pet Should I Get?” hit stands. Before that, the last Dr. Seuss book to be published was “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” which came a year before his death in 1991.

“Sing the 50 United States!” features the Cat in the Hat and two Little cats who help teach the names of all 50 states in a rhyming fashion. The publishing date for the book will closely coincide with America’s 250th anniversary, which occurs about a month later.
