New Year’s 2026: Burst of colours light up the ancient Acropolis in Athens, Greece

The Acropolis of Athens, Greece, was lit up from all sides of the city around it as people rang in the New Year.

Located on a rocky outcrop above the city of Athens, the ancient citadel was adorned in the reflection of colours bursting into the night sky.

From a distance, the dark Athens night was illuminated throughout the city below the Acropolis.
