Ontario drops Crown Royal ban after Ford announces $23 million deal with Diageo

On Friday, Crown Royal maker Diageo and the Ontario government came to an agreement after Premier Doug Ford threatened to pull the Canadian whisky brand off LCBO shelves.

In order to keep Crown Royal on Ontario liquor store shelves, Diageo agreed to $23 million in spending in the province. Ford had been threatening for months to pull the product from the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) after Diageo announced it is closing a Windsor-area Crown Royal bottling plant.
