During question period in the house of commons on Tuesday, Canada’s Minister of Finance François-Philippe Champagne slammed Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre for voting against the Liberal 2025 budget.
The House of Commons erupted in laughter when Pierre Poilievre responded, “I don’t think anybody’s been able to cram that many slogans into one answer and this is coming from me!”
The opposition leader then listed various tariffs from other countries that are still in effect and added, “Now, allow me to introduce a comprehensive list of all the tariffs the Prime Minister has successfully had reduced on Canada,” as he proceeded to show a blank page to illustrate his point.
In response, Minister of International Trade Maninder Sidhu said, “Conservatives continue to stand against support for Canadian workers and businesses,” and questioned, “Does the conservative leader think our $5 billion beef exports is pixie dust? Or the LNG headed to South Korea from B.C., or what about the 7.6 billion dollars-worth of fish and seafood caught by hard-working Canadians?”
