Russian President Vladimir Putin embarked on a state visit to India on Thursday to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

It is Putin’s first visit to India since invading Ukraine in February 2022.

The meeting comes after it shot down the latest peace proposal with Ukraine earlier this week, while the latter plans to meet Americans in the United States.
