In a stunning ruling, the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals halted the execution of Robert Roberson set for October 16. The case now goes back to the lower court for review. Robert Roberson was convicted in 2003 for killing his daughter Nikki. Prosecutors focused on a shaken baby syndrome diagnosis. The 58-year old has long maintained his innocence and his defense has argued that the science behind his conviction is outdated. The Texas Attorney General has stood by Roberson’s conviction.
