Monday marks a year since the toppling of Bashar al-Assad’s government in Syria. The country continues to struggle to find stability after more than 13 years of war, but Tareq Hadhad, who first came to Canada as a Syrian refugee in 2015, says the journey to rebuilding takes patience, determination, compassion and a lot of honesty from all Syrians.
