Indian officials reported on Tuesday that the death toll from a vehicle collision on an Indian expressway had risen to 13.

The crash occurred on the Delhi-Agra Expressway and was attributed to poor visibility caused by dense winter fog, according to local media.

Emergency responders, including fire services and police, rushed to the scene after locals and witnesses attempted to rescue those trapped in burning vehicles.

"From Delhi, I was going to my village in MP (Madhya Pradesh). I saw a terrible accident. Flames were rising. Three vehicles had caught fire. When I came here, four or five people were stuck there," an eyewitness told the media.
