It was a sad start to the new year for the Toronto Zoo, and animal lovers across the GTA.
Kiko, the zoo’s 13-year-old Masai giraffe, died suddenly from cardiac arrest following a tragic accident.

The zoo shared the results of the final post-mortem report on Kiko’s death Friday, which found that the animal died after its head became stuck in a door.
