Vote counting has begun in Bangladesh’s elections, which pits coalitions led by former allies the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and the Islamist Jamaat-e-Islami. It’s the first since the 2024 Gen-Z protests that saw long-time premier Sheikh Hasina ousted.
