From USA TODAY.
The Supreme Court on Jan. 21 takes up President Donald Trump’s ability to control the Federal Reserve, a case with potentially major consequences for the nation’s economy.
Trump wants to remove Lisa Cook, a Biden appointee and the first Black woman to serve on the Fed’s seven-member board.
The court is debating how much leeway Trump has to decide for himself whether there’s sufficient reason to remove her and whether Cook must be given a chance to defend herself.
