As the world’s largest electric vehicle battery manufacturer, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) battery packs now power one in every three electric vehicles. To help maintain its market-leading position, CATL is innovating new EV battery packs at an astonishing pace.

Six months ago, at CATL Tech Day 2025, it unveiled the Shenxing 2 Superfast Charging Battery, an LFP pack capable of a 12C charge rate. Now, it’s back with a new battery: the Shenxing Pro.

We were lucky enough to be invited to see the reveal event firsthand at IAA 2025 in Munich last week. Here’s what we learned.
