From DW News.
Imagine you’re in Space and suddenly you fall ill…some 400 kilometers above earth and the next hospital. Unfortunately that’s exactly what happened to a crew member on the International Space Station. The medical emergency led to the ISS’ first ever medical evacuation. On Wednesday, a crew of four, the ailing astronaut among them, returned safely to Earth, as their capsule splashed down off the California coast. The American, Russian and Japanese astronauts returned a month ahead of their scheduled departure from the ISS. NASA has not identified the patient nor the condition that prompted the evacuation. We spoke to Keith Cowing, the editor of NASAWatch.com.
