From DW News.
Germany’s Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul has arrived in China, where his talks focused on rare earths and steel trade. Germany has raised concerns over China’s export restrictions on rare earths and semiconductors which are vital to the German automotive, tech, and defense industries. This is Wadephul’s second attempt for talks with China on the issue. In October, a planned visit was canceled last-minute from the German side. This time, China reportedly offered to loosen restrictions and give new export licenses to EU manufacturers, which Wadephul welcomed.
