Why this time, the Israel-Hamas ceasefire might succeed | DW News

From DW News.

Israel’s security cabinet is meeting to approve the first phase of a ceasefire and hostage deal for Gaza. It comes after all parties signed off on the deal at negotiatons in Egypt. Israel and Hamas are now on the brink of ending two years of war.

Here in Europe there are also growing hopes that a post-war Gaza can be rebuilt and prosper. French President Emmanuel Macron is hosting talks in Paris with ministers from several Middle Eastern and European nations. Macron says the agreement must mark the end of the war in Gaza and the start of a two-state political solution.
