From Global News.
Authorities continued search and verification efforts in eastern Mexico on Tuesday as communities grappled with the aftermath of deadly floods, triggered by the overflow of the Cazones River in Poza Rica.
The deadly flooding was caused by an unnamed tropical depression that battered Mexico’s Gulf Coast and central states toward the end of the rainy season.
“Crying doesn’t help anymore. It was a catastrophe, a catastrophe because they didn’t warn us," flood survivor Cecilia Vega said.
Search and rescue teams with trained sniffer dogs combed through mud and debris, looking for people still missing after torrential rains triggered devastating floods and landslides that killed at least 64 people.
