Smoke rises over the seaside town of Al-Zawayda, in the central Gaza Strip, after the sound of an explosion was heard. Gaza’s civil defence affirms that five bodies were transferred to Al-Aqsa hospital after an Israeli strike in Al-Zawayda. Gaza’s nine-day-old ceasefire came under strain Sunday after the Israeli army said it launched air strikes in the territory’s south in response to attacks it claimed were carried out by Hamas militants against its forces.
