Sonya Massey was shot to death in her home in 2024 by a deputy sheriff during a routine 911 call. The officer, Sean Grayson, is on trial Wednesday for her murder. He is claiming self-defense. His attorney called it a "tragedy but not a crime." Grayson was a so-called "wandering cop," a police officer who goes from one job to another in law enforcement despite a record of misconduct. Grayson has pleaded not guilty.
