Alongside Ontario Premier Doug Ford, Prime Minister Mark Carney will hold a press conference on Thursday in Bowmanville, Ont.

After a tour of Darlington Nuclear Generating Station, Carney is slated to announce “a generational investment to create new careers and build Canada’s clean energy future.”

Last month, Carney announced that Canada would become the first G7 country to have operational small modular reactors (SMR) – promising the first of the four planned units would provide affordable, clean power to 300,000 homes, while sustaining 3,700 jobs annually.

Carney and Ford will be joined by federal Energy Minister Tim Hodgson, and Ontario Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy.
