The Quebec government has adopted Bill 2, a special law that forces a new pay structure on doctors and bans labour pressure tactics like those deployed after failed negotiations over Bill 106.
Bill 2 aims to improve access to family doctors, but it has provoked strong resistance.
The bill was passed early Saturday morning after Premier Francois Legault called a special session to rush it through.
As Elizabeth Zogalis reports, critics of the bill say the new restrictions will only further doctors’ frustrations and harm patient care.
