Toronto police have arrested a man in connection with a SIM-card swapping scam that cost an Ontario couple thousands of dollars.

Police allege Hamad Ali, 20, pretended to work as a Freedom Mobile employee to gain access to the couple’s account and all the personal information attached to it.

Wayne Stork and his wife, Debbie, watched in horror as the scammer took over his stock trading account and a bitcoin account worth $140,000.
