From Global News.
British Columbia Premier David Eby said he’s "not angry" Thursday after Prime Minister Mark Carney and Alberta Premier Danielle Smith signed a controversial Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
Eby expressed understanding that Smith had a "political imperative to meet," noting that Carney needed to "de-escalate with Alberta and find a path forward."
Additionally, Eby said he’s going to throw his "elbows up" when the conversation about this "non-existent [pipeline] project begins to actively compromise projects here in British Columbia that are real and meaningful."
The NDP premier said that the pipeline MOU has "some major challenges," noting there was no proponent of a potential pipeline project — which Carney and Smith know.
"It really pissed me off that we lost the Nutrien deal, because I think that was entirely avoidable, and that is the one that gets under my skin," Eby added, referring to Nutrien’s decision to build a new potash export terminal in Longview, Wa., rather than in Canada.
