Nova Scotia couple grieves baby after “traumatic birth,” calls for more sympathetic care

Shane Boucher and Makenna Westlake were delighted when they found out she was pregnant with their first child. Now, the Nova Scotia couple is speaking out after a traumatic early birth that resulted in the loss of their son.

Westlake went into labour in September, months before her due date. And the couple says they were wrongfully treated at every turn on that terrible day.

Now, as Ella Macdonald reports, they are sharing their story in the hope that hospitals improve how they deal with micro-preemie deliveries.
