North Koreans marked the 14th anniversary of the late leader Kim Jong Il’s death, state media reported on December 17. In footage provided by the country’s official news agency KCNA, which cannot be independently verified by Reuters, residents and soldiers were seen laying flowers near statues of Kim Jong Il and the state’s founder Kim Il Sung at the Mansu Hill Grand Monument in Pyongyang.
