Pakistan’s former prime minister Imran Khan and his wife have been sentenced to further jail terms.

The two have been found guilty of buying state gifts, including jewelry from Saudi Arabia, at far below market value. The couple are already serving jail time for earlier corruption convictions. The latest sentence adds 17 years to their prison term. Khan, a former cricket star, describes the charges brought against him since his ouster in 2022 as politically motivated.
