Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa receives a high-level Turkish delegation in Damascus, which includes Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Defence Minister Yasar Guler and Intelligence Chief Ibrahim Kalin. Both countries have developed close ties since the toppling of longtime ruler Bashar al-Assad late last year, and the delegation’s visit allows for a "general assessment" of relations, a ministry source told AFP.
