En route to Bethlehem for Christmas Eve, the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, said "This year we want a Christmas full of light because this is what we need. After two years of darkness. We need light," with the large concrete separation barrier behind him, Pizzaballa delivered the message on his way to the Church of the Nativity.
