From Global News.
In his 2025 Christmas message, King Charles reflected on the significance of pilgrimage and unity, stating, "Pilgrimage is a word less used today, but it has particular significance for our modern world and especially at Christmas."
He said that "the end of the Second World War is now remembered by fewer and fewer of us as the years pass," but the "courage and sacrifice" of wartime servicemen and women "carry a timeless message for us all."
"As we hear of division, both at home and abroad, these are the values of which we must never lose sight," he said.
He concluded, saying, "That prayer for peace and reconciliation, for doing to others as we would have them do to us, which rang out over the fields near Bethlehem more than 2,000 years ago, still reverberates from there and around the world today."
