U.S. President Donald Trump and senior Iranian officials have exchanged threats over protests in Iran, where at least seven people have been killed. In a post on the Truth Social platform, Trump said the U.S. ‘will come to their rescue.’ They’re the largest protests in Iran since 2022, fuelled in part by the sharp collapse of Iran’s rial currency.
