Environment Canada has issued a weather warning from London all the way to Belleville with freezing rain expected to sweep through the region.

Some areas have the potential of seeing up to 5mm of ice buildup on the roads and walkways, with heavy fog blanketing different areas.

Sgt. Kerry Schmidt of the OPP Highway Safety Division advises drivers to be wary of icy roads, even if they don’t see snow in the area – which is when commuters often forget to take it slow.
