Sen. Thom Tillis, R-N.C, railed against claims from the White House that the United States should assume control of Greenland Wednesday.
His fiery Senate floor speech came after White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller had questioned the territorial claim Denmark has over Greenland in an interview on CNN Monday evening, adding, "Greenland should be part of the United States."
The comments come in the wake of the U.S. military capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro over the weekend.
"I’m sick of stupid," Tillis said, after pointing out Denmark’s — and thus Greenland’s — high level of support to NATO forces during the war in Afghanistan. "I want good advice for this president because I want this president to have a good legacy."
