Minnesota Woman Dies After Shark Attack in US Virgin Islands

A woman vacationing in the US Virgin Islands was attacked by a shark while snorkeling. Another tourist heard the screams and ran into the water, stuffing a pool noodle into the back of his swim trunks as a life preserver. Christopher Carroll is a surgical nurse and one-time lifeguard from Utah. Carroll told EMS that the shark took the woman’s left arm. The victim has been identified as 56-year-old Arlene Lillis, a pharmacist from Minnesota. Lillis did not survive the shark attack.
