The federal Liberals’ gun buyback plan is being criticized after a pilot of the program resulted in far fewer firearms being handed in than expected.

The program was first promised by former prime minister Justin Trudeau following the 2020 Nova Scotia mass shooting, which killed 22 people, plus the perpetrator.
