From Global News.
As Ontario Premier Doug Ford plans to take Crown Royal off the shelves of the LCBO next month, Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew is asking him to reconsider.
The dispute over the whisky brand’s presence in Ontario liquor stores started when Crown Royal producer Diageo announced it would cease operations at its Amherstburg, Ont. bottling plant last September.
“You are going to hurt Canadian jobs, you’re going to hurt Manitoba jobs, if you follow through with this action,” Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew warned. “A house divided cannot stand, we got to stand together as provincial leaders. We got to stick together as Canadians.”
Global’s Meghan King reports.
