The GTA got blasted with winter weather on Thursday with heavy snow and biting cold temperatures. It was the biggest snowstorm of the season so far with at least 40 cm of snow in Ontario.

Most schools were closed and the morning rush turned into a crawl as collisions and stuck vehicles on major highways slowed everything.

Torontonians faced major inconveniences owing to the weather, "too much snow, bad morning for me," one resident said.
