Returning from a delegation in China, Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe spoke alongside provincial ministers of agriculture and trade Tuesday afternoon at the University of Saskatchewan.
Moe highlighted the details of the preliminary agreement made in Beijing, emphasizing that it was a positive agreement not only for the Saskatchewan agriculture industry but “equally important to the Canadian economy,” and that “this gets us back to where we were a year ago. No more, no less really.”
Moe also took a moment to praise efforts made by the Carney liberal government, “You haven’t heard me saying that a lot in the last decade. But I will say it here today and a credit to Prime Minister Carney, for engaging and engaging earnestly, with at all levels of the Chinese government.”
The changes within the Canada-China agreement are expected to take effect by March 1.
