As Ontario Premier Doug Ford threatens to follow through with a retaliatory ban on Crown Royal, the government is now facing a cross-provincial push to back down. Quebec’s finance minister wrote a letter to the Ford government saying pulling the product from the LCBO would risk weakening Canadian supply chains that are already under pressure from the Trump administration.

Regardless of the pressure, Ford remains undeterred, saying, “My number one job is to protect the workers here in Ontario, protect the communities, protect the people of Ontario and I’ll do whatever it takes to make sure we protect them.”
