Members of a small amateur soccer team in Chile have joined firefighters on the front line as wildfires tear through the country’s south. Brought together nearly a decade ago, Vladimir Valenzuela and his teammates from Goldberg FC have mobilised to defend their communities, using little more than a truck, two 2,000-liter water tanks and basic tools to slow the advance of the flames and protect homes.
