Cow demonstrates chimpanzee-like use of tools

A cow in rural Austria was filmed using a brush to scratch herself, behaviour a researcher compares to tool use seen in chimpanzees.

The footage, recorded in summer 2025, adds to research suggesting cows’ mental abilities have long been underestimated.
