Former IRS Agent Brendan Banfield took the stand in his own defense at his murder trial. Banfield is accused of stabbing his wife to death in a plot to begin a new life with the family nanny. Banfield and the nanny are accused of luring an unsuspecting man to the house with an offer of sex, then shooting him when he stepped into the bedroom, and then stabbing Banfield’s wife.The nanny pled guilty to manslaughter. Banfield, who has pleaded not guilty, faces life in prison if convicted.
