Iran’s internet blackout enters its third consecutive week Thursday, and many are voicing their frustrations as it takes a toll on both their professional and personal lives.

Tehran blocked internet access on Jan. 8, after widespread anti-government protests began in December.

The blackout is affecting Iranians abroad, too, leaving many unaware of the status of their families and friends.

The crackdown is considered the biggest by Iranian authorities since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, with reports of thousands of deaths.
