Health officials in India have confirmed cases of the deadly Nipah virus, prompting authorities across Southeast Asia to boost security measures and prevent further spread. The World Health Organization lists Nipah as a priority disease due to its potential for rapid outbreaks. There is no approved vaccine or cure. Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Malaysia have taken urgent steps to prevent the virus from spreading beyond India, implementing airport temperature checks and other screening measures.
