First Gazans begin crossing to Egypt for medical treatment after partial Rafah reopening | DW News

The Rafah crossing was closed for nearly two years during the war between Israel and Hamas. The first few wounded Palestinians have now crossed into Egypt to receive medical treatment. Thousands more are still waiting – and Israeli restrictions on numbers mean that could take months. Many others now living outside Gaza are hoping to return to their homes in the territory.
