In a Truth Social post overnight, Donald Trump threatened to sue Trevor Noah after the longtime Grammys host made “false and defamatory” remarks about the U.S. president’s relationship with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein during Sunday’s Grammy Awards ceremony.

Asked if he was seriously considering filing a lawsuit against Noah, Trump told reporters in the Oval Office on Monday that he was “terrible” and a “lousy host,” before claiming he had “nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein.”

Noah’s joke – which suggested Trump wanted to annex Greenland so he would have “a new island to hang out with Bill Clinton” – comes after the U.S. Department of Justice released more than three million pages of records from its investigation on Epstein, resuming disclosures under a law intended to reveal what the government knew about the millionaire financier’s sexual abuse of young girls and his interactions with rich and powerful people like Trump and Clinton.

“Frankly, the DOJ [Department of Justice], I think, should just say, ‘We have other things to do,’” Trump said.
