Israel has reopened the only pedestrian crossing between Egypt and Gaza, but strict limits remain on how many Palestinians are allowed to leave or enter. The Rafah crossing’s reopening is a key element of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas. UNICEF’s chief of communication warns that, with more than 4,000 children needing medical care, the restrictions must be eased so more people can cross.
