A Russian drone attack on Friday killed one person and injured six others at a port in Ukraine’s Odesa region, damaging port facilities and a nearby car dealership, officials said.

Overnight strikes also hit energy infrastructure, leaving tens of thousands in Kyiv, Dnipro and Odesa without heat, power or water.

Residents in the capital queued for hot meals and charging stations as outages stretched into another day.

Speaking Friday on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, Olexandr Falshchynskyi, an army doctor, said Ukraine is Europe’s “best partner because we already live in a future of war.”

He warned European countries to prepare for conflict before it reaches them.
