Ready, set, flip! Crowds gather as contestants take part in the annual Pancake Day race at London’s Leadenhall Market. The race has been running for 15 years and is a light-hearted tradition for the centuries-old feast day of Shrove Tuesday. In the Christian calendar, Shrove Tuesday, also known as Mardi Gras, is the feast before the fast of Lent, also celebrated in Britain as Pancake Day.
